Tower of David Museum
Within an ancient fortress that towers over the Jaffa Gate entrance to the Old City lies the fascinating ruins of centuries of Jerusalem conquerors.
The Museum documents the people and politics that have ruled over Jerusalem starting in the 2nd millenium BCE to Herodian First Temple Times, to the Ummayid dynasty and Ottoman empire, up to modern day Israel, including the British mandate period. Alongside the information permanent collection, including the vast complex which visitors walk through, are temporary exhibitions that focus on cultural and artistic themes related to Jerusalem, the city and its people.
